It depends on where and how long you work. Every hospital has different pay. You can also take up freelance and open your own clinic or collaborate with hospitals to offer your service .It can go to 30 lakhs rupees per month if you are a good orthopaedist.

My cousin has passed MS in Orthopaedy from Santosh university and he has joined a hospital and he earns decently around 3 lakhs per month.

Well I think its depends on the hospital to hospital, you will earn good if you will work in reputed hospital. I know a friend of mine who did his M.S. Orthopaedics from Santosh Medical college of ghaziabad and just after completion of his course he got job in one of the top hospital in Delhi. So I feel its also depends on your knowledge, your start and the college from where you do your degree course .
