With a Diploma in Civil Engineering you could start as an overseer with a construction company. The bigger the company the higher the starting salary would be.
I would assume a fresh Civil Diploma holder with no experience would be able to find a job with a starting salary in the range of Rs.8,000.00 to Rs.12,000.00.
Don't loose heart. The prospects are excellent. With all youngsters going for information technology, Civil and Mechanical engineers are in short supply. With a few years experience you would be earning a very decent salary.
