I think the idea is admirable, wanting to help and wanting to travel though are not enough. Apply the old saying, 'what can I do for the Peace Corps, not what it can do for me.' Firstly you need to acquire skills that are needed in the far flung areas. It may be in agriculture, engineering or even IT.
