There are a number of jobs that are ideal for people who are slow learners or have trouble following instructions. Any job that involves a simple repetitive task is ideal for a slow learner as new tasks don't often have to be learned. There are several examples of jobs such as this including some factory production jobs, sanitation collection, or a job on an assembly line where jobs between employees are not changed on a regular basis.

There is no shame in being a slow learner, and just because a person is slow to learn in no way means that they cannot be a productive worker when put in the right situation. The best approach for a person who is looking for a job and is a slow learner is to find the jobs that are not dynamic in nature.  Some good examples of jobs that are repetitive include typing and data entry, some construction jobs such as concrete work and roofing, and framing and foundation work, and there are a number of clerical jobs that require little decision making on the part of the employee that slow learners can thrive at after grasping the job.

Whatever the job is the main thing employees are looking for is someone who is dependable and can do the job on a daily basis. The main thing to remember once you land a job is to be honest with your supervisor and ask questions when you need answers, and show up on a daily basis ready and able to do the job. If you exhibit these qualities day in and day out, it matters not if you are a slow learner, your employer will consider you a valuable employee and you'll be able to work at that job as long as you like.

Unfortunately, there are very few of these kinds of jobs around. The vast majority of available jobs require people to be fast and flexible. Typing and data entry jobs require speed and great accuracy. Flexibility is also required. Most clerical jobs do require decision making. You have to be able to run an office as well as do the typing. Jobs that require only data entry are few and far between. Employers have so many applicants for jobs that they simply aren't interested in hiring slow learners. Unfortunately, slow learners need to apply for the vast majority of jobs.

I would like to say to those people who are weak learners can find jobs online. I am really slow and lethargic from smoking weed all day and I have a job so you can to. Look for internet marketing or social media jobs. You basically spend all day sat at a computer snacking lol

I consider myself a slow learner and it is unfortunate that the only jobs I can hope to do well at is low paying, repetitive jobs. I am an accounting major (for right now) and I am haunted by the thought of failure and underachievement. I have worked in food and retail in the past and have experience management limiting my responsibilities because of my poor performance. Its heart breaking for me because I don't want to accept that I am less than average and so here I am in school, striving for something probably unattainable for me.
