When a business is forced to downsize, it can be a very disruptive process with many staff losing their jobs and others feeling angered that their colleagues have been let go.

Therefore team morale, motivation and productivity can all take a massive hit when this strategy is first implemented.

Some ways of helping the survivors of downsizing stay motivated and productive are as follows:
  • Pay rises could help boost the morale of workers and make them feel valued
  • Showing that they still have their job when others lost theirs can highlight how important they are to the company
  • A staff meeting may help get any issues they have out in the open and allow the company to try and rectify them
  • Giving new job titles to the staff may help them feel more important and so will give more to the company
As this clearly is a homework question it is best to decide for yourself the order of priority and also why you have chosen that order. Although you may think it is quicker and easier to get someone else to answer the question it will end up being a pointless task as you will not learn and develop this way. Also when it comes to sitting exams you could be left not knowing the answers due to relying on others before.

Also if you just simply copy and pasted this answer you could fail the question due to plagiarism.

If you are struggling with a question then it is always best to let your tutor know. They will be happy to help you and try and explain it in a different way that you may find helps you understand better. Suffering in silence will only hinder your progress and so getting help early should always be the way forward.
