Babysitters should get paid for the service they provide--they watch your kids and keep them safe.  Some of my friends pay less because they don't feel like it's "hard" work.  A good place to look for a starting place is Care.com because they have a babysitting pay calculator.  It tells you how much a sitter should be paid based on the average pay in the area by zip code.  A good rule of thumb is to add an extra dollar per child and to also pay for more experience.  Here's the link: www.care.com/child-care-babysitter-pay-calculator-p1140.html   Good Luck!

There is a lot of talk here regarding the amount you should give your babysitter. I think before you think of hiring a babysitter you need to make a plan and realize how much can you spend and how much you want to spend. If you make a budget I'm sure you can find someone within that price range. Every country is different. You just need to find sites that tell you what kind of salaries you should pay for every country, so you have an idea!

That's usually up to the parents to decide.

Well, it depends, if there are 1-3 kids, 5-10 dollars an hour but if there are 4 or more kids, I would say about 10-15 dollars...it depends on the situation.
