I've thought about selling out, moving into a motorhome, or sailboat.  I could easily move to an island hut, with a horse and a dog.  A bug-free island preferably.

I live in a small house now. It's a little less than 600 square feet and it's all I need. Having 4 kids, I always lived in very large houses. Now that it's just me and the dog, who needs the room. I can plug my vacuum into the hall outlet and vacuum the entire house without unplugging it. It's small but it has the best of everything as far as fixtures and appliances go.

I've pretty much lived in a hotel for the last 2 years, and a travel trailer before that for 6 years, so a small apartment wouldn't be an issue

No. I have a Boxer, and I usually have two or more. They are not Tiny house material. They need room to run, and with their short noses aren't dogs that can go out in the heat of the day. So they run inside.

Boxers are great dogs. Very friendly. I knew a vet that worked for an Argentine circus, in his younger years. They had a group of boxers. He said they were incredible jumpers.

They are. I have had two that could easily clear our fences if they wanted to. And one that could jump up and do a 360 degree turn.

They've got springs for legs. :)
I get a kick out of watching them.

Honestly, I prefer apartment living. What's the point of all the space? It's just asking to be filled with more stuff that you realistically don't need. Most of the time we're out and about. Working, eating out, at the gym, attending an event, movies, concert, SHOPPING FOR CLOTHES, going biking, visiting friends, going out and about etc.. Etc. There's little cleaning as long as you're tidy most of the time. Even an apartment is big enough to host quite a few people for dinner.

Something this size, is more than enough www.zillow.com/homedetails/350-Robin-Dr-2A20-Corte-Madera-CA

Absolutely......I would love one by the lake. But a swing is a must, when the weather is nice that's where I'll be.

I have a four bedroom house now and I feel like I can never keep up with all the house work and yard to take care of, it drives me crazy sometimes.

I have seen plenty of articles covering personal features of families who live in tiny houses and I am totally awed by them. This type of houses require genuine creativity and careful organizing techniques in order to ensure all necessities are being met within that confined space. After all has been done, they can even be made mobile since they are so easy to transport, so I think they are definitely worth a try.
