APA guidelines are a system of editorial guidelines that have been developed by the American psychological association to present findings in the field. Now these guidelines are followed by many others and often students are asked to present their work by using APA formatting. The font size in APA formatting is 12 and the generally accepted font type is times new roman or courier. Double line spacing is used and a margin of one inch is left on all four sides of the paper. The sections are ordered in a specific sequence of title page, abstract or summary, the report, references, appendices, footnotes, tables and figures.

Your essay should be typed and double-spaced on standard-sized paper (8.5" x 11"), with 1" margins on all sides. You should use a clear font that is highly readable. APA recommends using 12 pt. Times New Roman font.
