In most states in the United States most children are allowed to begin working a part time job at the age of sixteen. Many states have passed laws concerning child labour. Some state laws say that children between the ages of sixteen and eighteen are allowed to work a part time job as long as they maintain passing grades in school.

This is not the case in many other countries around the world. In many of the third world countries, there is no working age limit and many children are forced into work in order to help support and maintain their families. In these cases, these children receive little or no formal education because they are out working full time jobs.

So, it really depends on what area of the world you are looking at. Each country and each state or providence has their own laws concerning the legal age for a child to work. Some countries have no laws for child labor.
