The average earning of a dancer, according to research, is about $13 per hourly basis. The highest paid dancers can earn about $26 per hour where as the lowest paid dancers get about $8 per hour. It all depends on the reputation of a dancer and the musical production company he is working for.

The most a dancer can earn is by teaching in school or other dancing programs, in performing art companies, in bars and clubs and in other amusement industries. However choreographers tend to earn more than dancers at a rate of at least $37 per hour.

Those dancers who go on tours and travel around with performing arts companies tend to have other benefits besides wages, such as paid food, rent and allowances. It is believed that the earnings for dancers are not that good and they have to work extra hours in clubs and bars even to earn good money.

It is good if a dancer joins a certain union companies which protect the rights of dancers and make sure they get paid for their hard work. The unions will sign a contract with the dancers and they will earn some amount of share of the dancer's salary.

The dancers who work for videos and movies earn more than others and if a group of dancers is hired permanently by a music company, then they can earn some good money.

Dancers get paid based on the company they work for. You can make anywhere from 5 dollars a week to $2000. The choice is your but make sure you have the talent and the background to back you up. Its hard work, good luck

Dancers are very badly paid. In West End musicals you would earn about £450 a week. Bear in mind you spend a lot of your time unemployed. Dancers in ballet/contemporary companies generally earn considerably less.

Commercial dancers doing pop videos can earn up to £1000 (usually less) but they only do these very sporadically.

Don't expect to have much money as a professional dancer. You work really hard, hurt and damage your body all the time, get treated really badly, and are out of work a lot, constantly looking for jobs and getting rejections - and that is if you are amazingly talented. If you are just a good dancer you are wasting your time.

Generally you do it for a few years through your 20s, then realise you are getting too old and it is too much hard work, and you want to have some money and security, so you get a proper job. And by then you have missed out on the most important years of your pension so you have to struggle for the rest of your life.... Basically don't bother!!! Its crap!!! When you work you just keep doing the same thing over and over and over again - it is unimaginably boring and pointless
