It is relatively simple to write a letter of reinstatement to a job. It is important that you format the letter so you convey the appeal for job reinstatement in the correct and professional way.

  • How to write reinstatement job letters: Step 1
First of all you need to make sure you word process the letter of reinstatement on a computer as opposed to hand writing it. In terms of layout, the first thing you need to do is type your address in the left-hand corner at the top of the page and then leave a line. Underneath that you should type the full date. Across the page write the address of the company with the person you are referring to above the address.

  • Step 2
When you're addressing the individual you are writing to you should put 'Dear Mr/Mrs/Ms' followed by their name. In terms of the body of the letter you need to begin by mentioning that you are looking for reinstatement and the specific job title that you are hoping to be reinstated for. You should also give any relevant details such as an employee ID number, if necessary.

  • Step 3
You should then go on to state the reasons as to why you left the job in the first place and all the circumstances that surrounded your departure. Following that you need to explain why you would like the job back. For example, if you were dismissed because of a mistake you made then you need to explain how you have redeemed yourself since the incident.

  • Step 4
Finally, close the letter by thanking the individual for considering your request and that you hope to hear a response from them soon. Provide the relevant contact information so they can get in touch.

Reinstatement, unless legally ordered, is much more difficult than initial employment. A trust has been broken, and that is very hard to repair--even if the job is still open, and even if you are still qualified for it. Among other things, you will need to provide evidence to your former
employer that the reasons for your termination are no longer valid. You
will need to show that you can be trusted to make sure that they will
not become valid again in the future.

As it is a postal job, the post office may have hiring procedures they must follow to ensure fairness to all applicants. You will need to make sure you have followed the necessary procedures to be considered as a candidate.

Dear Mr. John Solheim:

Recently, I learned of the release of Stuart from the Ping Golf Company. I am dismayed and disappointed by this action.
Stuart is one of the most professional, reliable, and helpful of the many sales personal I has worked during my Forty-one years as a Golf Professional. I hope you might reconsider your decision.

Sincerely,

Edwin C. Evers
