I have been in almost every sales environment. I have seen these trips that are given and they are a great incentive. However, a monetary gift has a better outcome. Make sure to keep the "contest" on a board where everyone can see the results as they happen. This method sparks the pride "get up and go" as well.  People need money and can buy their own trip if that is what they want.
