You should have received your W-2 from Winn-Dixie by the end of January, or a couple of days after this. Employers have until January 31 to send it to you. If you have not received it, then there are some steps that you can take. Not all employers make W-2s available online but if Winn-Dixie does you will be able to find them on www.w2express.com.
Once you have followed the instructions to find them (if they are there, obviously), click on their name and you will be given their ID number. You will be able to logon with this number as well as your own personal information. You will also need to know the gross amount of your last paycheck to be able to logon. From this, you will be able to access your W-2 and to print off as many copies as you like.
If Winn-Dixie does not have W-2s online, you can contact the IRS at 800-829-1040. You will need to tell them your name, address and zip code; your Social Security number; and your phone number. They will also want to know details like the name and address of your employer; the dates of your employment with them; an estimate of how much you earned; and the amount of federal tax that was withheld. These figures can be found on your year’s final pay stub or on your leave and earnings statement, whichever one is applicable.
Even if you have not received your W-2, you must still file your tax return, or have applied for an extension by April 18. If you need to file without your W-2, you can use Form 4852, though any refunds due may be delayed while all the figures are verified.
