Teaching is generally regarded as being a vocation as opposed to something whihc is just a job or a way to pay the mortgage.
Most people who are teachers become interested for two main reasons: either they have a burning desire to help influence and shape the lives of young people for the better or they left university and were unsure what they wanted to do and so decided to enrol on teacher training.
Obviously the first reason is the best, but many teachers who have entered the profession 'by accident' find that they are very good at it and that it is a rich and rewarding career.
If your experience at school was ok and you had one particular teacher that you thought was very good and he or she inspired you to learn then this can mean that you too end up being a teacher and help equip children and young people with the skills and knowledge to make their lives better !
