An rn is not needed when someone has a bm. He or she needs to be clened up by somebody. When a quad is impacted or is having a problem illiminating an rn assists orinserts two fingers into anus to aid in process.
What could happen to a quadriplegic when they have a bowel movement and why does an RN presence needed for elimination? Need an answer for above questions in order for me to get an extra credit.
A quadriplegic would have a colostomy bag fitted, which would collect all there bodily waste. A Nurse would be required to remove the bag when full and replace it with a fresh one . Hope this helps .
