I am at the moment doing a HE access course and in september will be taking up my sujects in Social work, iam wanting to work with people with Mental Health issues and abuse backgrounds. I want to do some voluntary work as part of my experience in the field of work can you help me.
Birmingham has one of the best-developed infrastructures for finding and offering voluntary work of any area in the UK. The Birmingham Centre for Voluntary Action (BVSC) offers support for anyone connected to the voluntary sector, not just in Birmingham but around the country. They run various programmes and projects, the majority of which centre around their home city.
The BVSC website offers a search function through which you can find vacancies for voluntary workers. This facility makes use of the National Volunteering Database. The BVSC search facility requires you to enter some basic information about the type of job you wish to do (administrative, first aid etc) and how far you are willing to travel. Similarly, if you wish to work for a specific organisation you can specify this too. After registering you will be able to browse matching vacancies in the database.
I have a diploma in payroll management and would like to work in this field but without experience I am not getting any where I was told to do some volunteer work how do I go about it
