How is the media changing our lifestyle?

The media is hugely influential in how we perceive the world outside our own direct experience.

We rely on the media to tell us about events that occur in far away lands, and even what our own government and politicians are up to, since we obviously can't be everywhere at once.

The danger is that, even though most media outlets claim to be unbiased, it's hard to think of even one that doesn't have some sort of motivation for putting their own interpretation or "spin" on events.

That's why it's important for us all to try and gather information from as many different sources as possible, and then make an informed decision on who to believe - especially when it comes to important events in decisions such as who to vote for etc...
