Yes, some people just have a knack for it. I think these people tend to ge good communicators and good listeners, as well as being able to engage with their students and explain things in interesting ways. I think those kinds of people are naturally good teachers.

There sure is but are extremely rare.  In all my years in school as a Student and as a part time University Professor, I've only met 1  Teacher that teaching came so natural and every student loved him and his classes which was in Music, so yes they exist

Maybe. Some are certainly more suited to teaching than others. Me? I'd be a klutz.

But I know a man who moved into teaching in his 50s and excelled. He had been a computer programmer/systems analyst and had spent the previous 20-odd years creating all manner of business systems, world wide.

He also loved football (soccer) and coached junior teams for many years -- first when his son was playing but later on because he enjoyed it and liked working with kids.

So he went back to Uni in his early 50s and earned his Dip.Ed before being sent out to a few schools for work experience. He interacted with the kids so well, and was so creative with his presentations, that they ALL offered him a full-time teaching spot. He enjoyed himself thoroughly and stayed with it till he retired a couple of years ago.

So, yes, he was a natural. He may also have been unique.

Plenty. Personally, the best teachers for me are the ones who tells interesting stories. Do your work, they'll tell you a story, so you work work work! High school was all about normal everyday tribulation stories. College were more professional and field related stories but they were all special in their own way.

My History professor was the person who inspired me to travel to Sierra Leone from all the sweet telling of his numerous adventures.

I think that people who were born to teach, must have been a teacher in their previous life. That's why they are naturals.
