This one is for Rooster. What is the only active US navy ship to have sunk an enemy ship?

Believe it or not, the only ship left that sunk an enemy ship is the U.S.S Constitution during the war of 1812. Although it's not really active anymore, it's the only one left ! The U.S.S Simpson was the last modern U.S. Navy ship to sink another enemy ship but has long been decommissioned.

Hmmmmm ... now that got me to wondering ... if a plane from a carrier sinks an enemy vessel - does the plane or carrier get credit for the "kill"?

I'm pretty certain the Carrier gets the actual credit for the sinking as the air group is assigned to her. SCRATCH ONE FLAT TOP !
