Some people never make the big salaries to retire.

Lifetime earnings can make all the difference in the world when it comes to retirement. Teachers in my state have an average salary of $63,000 and those in supervisory positions make 6 figures.

It's a shame that those that teach and, these days, raise our youth don't get much better compensation. We seem to ignore the true heroes like teachers and veterans and then we idolize and pay millions of $ to rappers and sports figures.

We should send all the unemployed people to the colonies to build new nations. We should also send all cats with them. I think that would work.

I've been banned from the Cat's Protection League page on Facebook after I asked the easiest way to render stray cats into nitrogen-rich fertiliser. I was joking of course, but the CPL have NOHHHH sense of humour......

I know what you mean Ray. I often joke about cats and Chinese restaurants and get blasted for it.

Double barreled solution---those who can't find work can be hired to take care of the cats.

Brilliant !

Big companies should stop "outsourcing" immediately.

I confess, that in my last position, I outsourced jobs to India, not many, it's true, but the time difference (I needed overnight text processing) and the wages I had to pay, meant that the company would not have been viable had I paid European workers "Night Shift" money

That is a very complex question. There are different reasons for someone to be unemployed. Some try to find a job, but limit themselves when applying. The only apply for a narrow group of jobs. There are quite a few jobs out there that people aren't applying for.

There are those who don't want to work, or at least work hard enough to get paid. They seem to think they should be hired in and given better pay or a higher position without doing the time to earn either.

Then you have those who need some lack social skills or have a mental problem that makes it difficult for them to work with others.

A lot of people say there needs to be more jobs, but it would be nice if those jobs that stay open are filled too.
