So it has come to my attention that my manager has been pulling aside co-workers and having meetings where she is essentially asking others if I am under the influence of drugs?

I am a recovering addict who has been clean for over 3 years.

There is also a "rumor" that I am under investigation of theft yet I have never been approached or spoken to on either of the issues?

What are my options, this has made my work environment very hostile for me.

Pretty crappy manager if you ask me. You don't go asking other employee's these things. If I were you ? I would go to her and ask her to send you for a drug test and then tell her to stop with the rumors and get evidence or quash the rumors. Don't know where you live but there is such things as labor laws. I never did anything like that in my business. Problem with an employee? I brought them into the office and corrected it, one way or the other. Best thing you can do is talk with this manager and straighten things out before they get worse.

Very unprofessional .. Basically gossiping instead of handling it privately with you.  I would approach your boss and ask him or her about this.  If you're "clean" .. You could even consider filing charges against your boss.  If you're not .. Then you might want to consider getting some professional help.

You haven't been approached because they have no grounds. It's her word against yours. She's a manager and you are replaceable. If there was a reason they would have drug tested you. It's all rumour. Put a big smile on your face, ignore the rumours, and find another job, pronto.
