Bank of America Building in downtown Baltimore. 37 floors. Only 509 feet (roof) and 590 feet (antenna) and built in 1924.
The Willis Tower
(formally known as the Sears Tower at that time it was the tallest building in the world)
Dear Happy,
Here it is...a 42-story (yes truly, Jann) skyscraper, the USBancorp Tower in Portland OR, aka THE BIG PINK.
The granite was brought over from Spain, and the windows glazed with a copper silver mix, hence the interesting lovely color. And the 42nd floor is a wonderful restaurant, beloved of Portlanders.
(Just realized THE BIG PINK is not quite as tall as Seattle's Space Needle - so that is actually my tallest building!)
Our 6th grade class trip was to the Empire State building. That's one taaaaalllllllll building to a little kid.
Space Needle in Seattle, WA
Willis (Sears) in Chicago, IL
The Eiffel Tower in Paris
The Empire State Building. I laughed when I was at the top observatory and saw where someone had wrote : King Kong was here...1931.
I have been told I had my diaper changed on the window sill of a 63rd floor hallway window of the Empire State Building. As an adult I visited many times with out of state family visitors.
On our trip across the country, I was at the top of the World Trade Center, The Empire State Building, The Sears Tower, The crown of The Statue of Liberty and The Space Needle. They were all beautiful.
some of the best , maybe not tallest have actually been underground in the US and some have been the deepest more than a mile down
