Mahi Mahi is also known as dolphin fish or dolphin. These fish are surface dwelling fish and are found in tropical and subtropical waters all across the world. They are found in large numbers in the Caribbean, Gulf Coast of Florida and Gulf of Mexico. These are also the main spots for the agriculture and farming of Mahi mahi, especially Tahiti and Hawaiian Islands as the water and the weather conditions are suitable for the fish in these areas. Mahi mahi is farmed in tanks or ocean cages. Mahi Mahi is good for aquaculture and they spawn easily all year round. They spawn mostly from late spring to early summer. They are usually fed small fish, crabs and shrimps. The most common harvesting method is hook and line.
