My cousin is studying fashion at the London School of Art, she took 10 Gcse's including Art & Design, Business Studies, Textiles and IT. More importantly at A level she did Art (specialising in textiles) Business Studies and IT specialising in CAD (Computer Assisted Design) She averaged B's in all exams and got in no problem. She is in her second year and loving it! She has learned French and Italian too.

You will need textiles and art and design. Art and design is not compulsory but would give you a good portfolio.

Grades would be between A+ - C, thats in all subjects maths, english, art etc.

You can study textile courses and also the business studies. Most of the schools do not offer a fashion course at the high school. So you need to learn these related courses and then go for the diploma in fashion.

The important thing is what grade in school are you in, which you have not mentioned here. But as a standard rule you need be have studied GCSE and then A levels. Normally different fashion designing schools accept students with any subjects but they have to take a foundation course in fashion design separately, So it is better if you take subjects related to art like Textile designing, Arts etc.

I think that you only need an a-level manly I mean I want to become a fashion designer myself but most designers have started of from scratch woth no d.t or art gcse's but still to be on the safe side at least do an a-level in d.t

I just picked my gcse's, taking art and history. Basically, when you chose your a-levels, you can decide more about your career choices then. Don't worry!

Mainly art and business studies. Some professionals also recommend you take drama, just to be sure. But you also need to do what answer 1 says.

I am 13 and my art teacher said I should consider going into fashion designing as my rough sketches were very good when we studies designing in art. The thing is, I don't know HOW or what GSCE's to take or what to study and when I told my friends, they don't believe that I want to be a fashion designer....:\
