I wanted to become a counselor, so I checked into the program offered by Arizona State University and other colleges in my state.  Aside from the coursework, you have to do an internship, so it turned out to be not possible for me to do while keeping my day job.  Hope it works out for you though.

Thank you for your reply. I know there are some states in the US that do not require the tedious Internships that California and Arizona require...I think the State of New York is one, I just wondered if there were others. Thanks again.

The requirements for becoming a counselor varies from country to country and state to state and you have not mentioned which country or state you are from. However, According to the British Association for Counseling and Psychotherapy, You need to have at least a diploma level qualification that meets the BACP Accreditation Criteria. These diplomas are offered by BACP itself.

Thanks so much for your reply. I am from California, and know the tedious requirements for Internship, etc. I have my Masters degree in Marriage and Family Therapy and am just curious what states in US do not require the Internship. Thanks again.
