There are many historical places to visit in Jakarta as history has showered many remarkable buildings to embellish the city. One can visit Arsip Nasional or National Archive Building; an 18th century mansion museum. One can visit Banten Lama also which is a historic building west of Jakarta. The Chinese history of the place can be evident at Candra Naya, a 17th century Chinese temple. Initially this building served a merchant with the name of So Bing Kong as his home when he was appointed as the leader of ethnic Chinese. But it was not only his home but also served as a place to meet and a commercial hub for Chinese merchants. Earlier, two other houses were also there but they were destroyed in the year 1990. So if you are in Jakarta, you can never be short of places to visit.
