Antoni Gaudi studied architecture at Escola Tecnica Superior d'Arquitectura in Barcelona. He was a student of d' Arquitectura during 1873-1877 but he could manage to achieve only mediocre grade. He did quite well in his projects and trial drawings. It was after five years that he got the title of architect in the year 1878. While signing Gaudi's title, Elies Rogent made the statement, 'I have either found a lunatic or a genius.'

After getting the title of architect, Gaudi remained associated with his institute for whole of his life.

Throughout his life, Gaudi was quite fascinated with nature and the influence of his fascination could be seen in his designs. He did not rely on geometric shapes but made his designs erect like trees and human beings.
