This is dependent on whether your license has actually passed the expiration date, or is in fact only approaching the date in which it will be classed as expired.

Firstly, if your license has expired you will have to go back through and complete all the STNA training and be retested in order to be able to renew your license. If you are only coming up to the expiry date then there’s better news; as long as you work eight hours every 24 months and verify that your employer has reported those hours, your license will stay current and valid.

Please note that it is your responsibility to check that your employer has indeed reported the hours mentioned above. One way of doing this would be to call the Ohio Nurse Aide Registry to verify this information has been received. You can call Ohio’s Department of Health at (800) 582-5908 (in-state) and (614) 752-9500 (out-of-state).

If you would prefer to email them, their email address is [email protected]. You can also contact them via mail; their postal address is Ohio Department of Health, Nurse Aide Registry, 246 N. High Street, Columbus, OH 43215.

Nurse Aide credentials' renewal occurs every 24 months and at the time of renewal your listing on the registry is also updated.

It depends on if your license has expired or is just coming up on the expiration date. If you are just coming up on your two years then as long as you work 8 hours every 24 months and verify that your employer reported your hours your license will stay current. But it is your responsibility to verify that your employer has reported those hours, you may call the Ohio nurse aide registry to verify this information.
