It varies according to the country you are living in. However, in UK there are 3 different ways to become a midwife. First of all you can do a diploma course in midwifery. For this you would need to get 5 or more GCSEs with a grade C or above. The key subjects should be Maths, Science and English. Or you can apply for a vocational GCSEs/GNVQs, NVQs, BTEC National Diploma or Access courses when you are 18 years of age. Then you can also get a degree course. For this you would need to do A Levels or AVCEs. You would also need to take at least one science subject or any other health related subject. The grades must be C grade or above.

At least 5 gcse's a-c . Need important grades in maths, english and science and at least do science (biology) to learn more about the human body or something to do with health its not easy to be an midwife as someones else's life is in your hands so you must be caring and feel strongly about helping women and they're children as you do not just deliver the baby you look after it afterwards as well but try your best and when you get course work make sure you complete it to the best of your ability.

You need to take ENGLISH,MATHS AND SCIENCE (biology) and get grades C or above and if your school does health and social care take that as well and get C or above in that too and if you become a nurse first you don't have to do as long at collage or University to become a midwife I hope this info has helped  xxx

5 grades if C and above. Preferably Maths, English and Science at a higher grade. Heath and social or child development are good to take at GCSE if you are interested in becoming a midwife.

In the Uk:
To become a midwife you will need 5 GCSEs at grade Cor above including maths and english. If you have no science you can still take up the course but you will have to do a 1 year extra course. You Will also need at least two A levels

If your 16 and just took your GCSE's's you really need to get 5 c's def in english maths and science if you don't then take health studies BTEC which is worth 3 A levels and do english or maths or science along side it but if its to hard then drop english or maths or science and carry on doing health studies and after that do a year of GCSE's's to get them up to a C then you can go to university to do a nursing and midwifery course university will not take you on if you don't have your c in them 3 subjects and if you don't have 5 c's or above. :)
