Many of the problems teachers and public schools face stem from public school's foundation on two flawed assumptions.
1) Schooling is the responsibility of government
2) Students are empty vessels that can be filled by an assembly line-like process.
There are a few schools around that recognize each student as a unique individual with his/her own path to follow, that involve parents in the process of providing opportunities for discovering wonder and passion and mastery.
