You have to be careful when dealing with customers, rude customers especially because anything that you say they can take offensive and go straight to management. If you deal with a rude customer and they don't want to understand, the best thing for you to do is to let it ride out or let them complain to a higher authority figure. I deal with rude customers everyday and yes they can really get under my skin. Some can even take it to another level to where you feel like they are disrespecting you and sometimes you just want to cuss them out.I've been there.

Sometimes you just have to bite your tongue and if they don't want to understand then so be it. Eventually they will get over it. Try not to say anything back to them unless they get really nasty then hey, they're asking for it then.So I hope I was of some help to you!

Well, this is a difficult situation because as the saying goes the customer is always right.
So even if your answer is rational and right, the customer will not see it that way. It is best not to try to push your point because the customer will get angrier and angrier. You should just listen and give feedback to indicate you are listening like, yes I understand Mr. Jones, yes thats right, I am sorry that you have had this problem and I am going to try to help you. This will make the customer feel that you are listening to him, that's what he wants even if he is making no sense.

Whatever you do do not try to justify the mistake or your companies position. This will make him shout louder and louder and the problem will remain your problem.

Be polite even if the customer is not. You do not know how many problems he has had that have built up to this. You are on the receiving end, just avoid taking it personally.
