Casa Grande is a city in Arizona, USA. Casa Grande (meaning "Big House" in Spanish) is named after the monument Casa Grande Ruins Monument.

Casa Grande itself was founded back in 1879 but (I love this) in early 1880 the community known as Terminus was established even though it had just three buildings and five residents! Now that is what I call a small town :-)

In 1886 and 1893 fires destroyed many of the wooden built houses in Casa Grande. Also, the mining boom began to slow in 1890 which led to Casa Grande almost being abandoned, but luckily the town managed to rebuild itself.

What is Casa Grande like?
As this is desert area, it is hot all year round so on the positive side, think year round BBQs. However, it can get very humid which some people find difficult. Property is reasonably priced so getting a house with a pool could be a wise idea.

The good thing is that you are close to the city but if you venture the other way, you are in natural desert, so you have the best of both worlds!
