I guess that people who slaughter animals for a living just think of it as a job and it has no bearing on their treatment of other humans.
How can people slaughter animals without feeling bad? I understand that people have to eat blah blah! But how do you slaughter a cow, pig, goat without feeling remorseful? It makes me wonder how they treat people.
One of my sons is an abattoir. It's his job. He is processing food for the rest of us to eat. He feels fine.
There's a vast difference between the attitude of those who kill for food and those who kill because it gives them pleasure (but don't tell the NRA I said that).
I have a hawk that lives near my home. He kills and eats rodents living nearby. He does it to eat. Does he feel bad? No. Does he live for another day? Yes. Do I feel bad for the rodents? No. I actually am glad the howk is out there killing them so they don't overrun where I live. It is all part of the circle of life and the food chain.
Its a job thats it. We had cars come into the car dealership that had people who had a shootout or something. Bullholes thrue glass blood all over. I pulled the carpet and cleaned it replaced the glass all knowing somone may have died. To me it was just another day some mech did not want to touch it
Hippy's answer says it all. The first thing you need to understand is the concept of these subjects has no mutual point. Those who attend jobs or having slaughter at any kind over animals not necessarily treat people badly or negatively. Therefore, slaughters aren't that bad. It might look bad but when it comes to necessity doesn't matter how bad it would look like.
You realize this when you have nothing to eat, you see your family starving to death, you see your child doesn't get enough nutritional care and he's getting weak, it's a complete drought of everything but there's few of each animal that you named, how would you feel then ? Would you watch your family dies in order to feel sorry for those animals ? Or would you do anything you can to save your family ? How the process of "Feeling bad" will apply to you then ?
And i always wonder why people are so blind, are people really feel sorry or bad only for the pain that they can reach and observe it ? Even if human race stop slaughters, let's stop the milks, meats, and every dairy and any kind of nutritional usage that we get from these animals, so what we've got ? Herbs and vegetables. Aren't herbs alive ? Well yes they are, when you cut them, they way you cook them , boil them, and scratch them away from their seeds, you hurting them, you killing them, the only differences is that you can't hear nor see it.
If you consider this as a crime to see then at the end you take this lesson that whether you be a good or bad person, you have to get your hands a little bit dirty to stay alive.
