While training to become a veterinary nurse isn't as intensive as becoming an actual vet, there is still an element of training that needs to be done and certain qualifications that need to be acquired.

To start your training you should have at least 5 GCSE's at grade C or above. This is standard with most jobs these days. Alternatively if you live in Scotland you need to have 5 Grades 1-3 or Higher Grades A-E. These grades should include English Language and two passes in a science subject such as Biology and Physics or a pass in mathematics.

If you do not have the GCSE's that you need, sometimes higher education courses can compensate for them and you could still be accepted. You also need to be over the age of 17 as you will be working with X-rays. For more information you should visit the RCVS website and it will tell you everything you need to know.

5 GCSEs grade C or above, must include enlish language and 2 passes in a physical or biological science, (physics, chemistry, biology) or mathematics
however, passes in some examinations of a comparable or higher standard may be acceptable in place of the usual requirements.
