The manager is usually the owner of the business.
Hair stylists either work on hourly or on commission basis.
If you are hired to manage the business as a manager and you are also a master stylist. You can negotiate your commission. It depends on how busy the salon is and how established. If it is upscale and a well known franchise you can probably walk home with close to $50-60K a year. And that is that you run the business well (selling and replenishing products to bringing customers back). Professionalism is key.
If it is not a large salon with fluctuating revenue, then you wont be making close to that figure. $30-40K tops, you should be happy with.
