If you see the hospitality industry as consisting of hotels and holidays, then the hospitality industry affects:
Food purchase and delivery. Local employment. Peripheral local businesses (such as bars, restaurants and local entertainments). The travel industry.
Local tradesmen and artisans will be involved in all of those, earning and spending.
I'm sure there is an entire essay to be written here, but perhaps this is a start.
