Well, It just depends on what salon they work in. If you are going to get a job at Walmart or sports clips or some place like that. You are not going to make much at all, maybe $30,000 if you are lucky; probable not even that. A lot of people have a very uneducated attitude towards what hair stylist make. At this point in my life I am able to stay at home with my kids but I used to work as a hairstylist and I made $1,200 to $1,400 a week and I charged less then most of the women I worked with! One women I worked with made about $300 dollars every two hours and a lot of days she made $1,000... That's in one day! On average the women I worked with made between $1,600 to $2,000 dollars a week! Around 8,000 dollars a month so, that's about $90,000 a year! We worked at a small salon in the suburbs of of Houston... We did not work down town where they charge tons of money. So, for those of you who think that doing hair is a job to look down on, It is not! More then likely if you go to a decent salon especially booth rental, your stylist probably makes more then you do! So if you are thinking of becoming a stylist I say go for it!!! Just work at a decent salon and put your mind to building a clientele and you can make a lot of money. Also, for the record those numbers did not include retail sales so really you can lake even more!!! Hope this helps and this is real info I am not making this up!
