The world’s largest employer is the Wal-Mart stores chain from the United States that employs 1,800,000 employees. Deutsche Post of Germany is the second largest employer with a total of 502,545 employees. On third place is the Siemens group, again form Germany that has 461,000 employees. McDonalds employs 447 thousand and is a close fourth. The other large employers are Carrefour group with 440, 479 employees, Compass group with 410,074 employees; united parcel service has 407,000 employees, Gazprom from Russia has 396,571 employees, DaimlerChrysler of Germany has 382,724 employees and Hitachi, Japan has 355,879 employees.
