However, it has been observed that a good number of the largest employers have been banks such as Deutsche Bank, Morgan, UBS, JP Goldman Sachs, Barclays and Merrill Lynch. Some of the biggest non-bank employers would include BT Group (that is, telecoms), KPMG (accountancy) as well as Linklaters (legal services). It is important to note that the American public corporation Wal-Mart Stores, Inc. Is not only the world's largest retailer but also the second largest corporation (as per their 2006 revenue). It provided employment to 1.8 million people as per their 2006 reported statistics. In the U.K, their Asda subsidiary is ranked as the second largest chain to be found in the UK, placed after Tesco. According to the Top 100 Best Employers Survey by the UK newspaper Sunday Times in the years 2003, 2004 and 2005, this United Kingdom subsidiary was designated a Top 10 UK employer.
