You must know that it requires a long period of 8 years to become a veterinarian, which include 4 years of college and an additional 4 years of studying veterinary medicine. Ok, want to hear the good news? There are no internship or residency credits required. But, they are offered to achieve advanced qualification or specialty certification.
This degree has to be acquired at an accredited college of veterinary medicine. There are 28 colleges in the United States in 26 different states that meet accreditation standards of the Council on Education of the American Veterinary Association (AVMA). Many of these colleges do not require a bachelor's degree for admission, but a significant number of credit hours are a necessity. Applicants without a bachelor's degree ca face difficulty gaining admittance.
Veterinary colleges require classes in organic and inorganic chemistry, physics, biochemistry, general biology, animal biology, animal nutrition, cellular biology, genetics, vertebrate embryology, microbiology etc. some programs also require calculus others require only statistics.

I am a 12 year old about to turn 13 I love animals and I want to be a veterinarian I study. I have 2 dogs and had a lot of animals in my past. Well how long does it really take to be a veterinarian? I know I need my science and math high than the grade I am. Will that help me once I get to 10th grade for my veterinarian class in my school? While being in that during school will it be better if I get a free job as a veterinarian helper during the summer? Will my dream ever come true of being a veterinarian? Will algebra and pre ap science help for right now and go higher every year to get to my goal? Is it easy or difficult to be a veterinarian and my education to become one?
