If you received payments for unemployment benefits in 2009, you will receive a Form 1099-G, not a W2 form.  A W2 form reports earned income and your unemployment payments were not earned income.

Get it by mail or email check your unemployment account to see which you picked for your notifications

You need to contact the New Jersey Department of Labor and Workforce Development. If you look at their website you will see information on claims, getting the necessary forms etc. If you can't get the information you need, you can use the Contact section to find a phone number or email and speak to someone in the department directly.

The Irs for some reason did not receive my 2007 taxes that I filed myself.  I am having to file them again.  I need a copy of my 2007 unemployment  statement of benefits. (w-2 form that they send to you)

EDD will send it to you but it is not a W2 that you will get.  It is a small card I believe its call the 1099-G look for it in late Jan  and as far back as Early march EDD has been kinda slow lately

Contact your local unemployment agency. Do not fall into the trap of allowing this creatures to have to PAY to receive this FREE information.
