Depends on the doctor. Some make $80,000 per year while others can make over $1 million per year. It all depends on the doctor's specialty, location, and work ethic.

Keep in mind that, while a million bucks a year sounds like crazy good money, doctors have to complete a rigorous college program for 8 years, then complete a 4-8 year residency/fellowship program after college that probably required them to work 80-100 hours a week for all 4-8 years. So if they make a million a year, it's because they've worked hard to earn it

I think the ADA estimates average annual income around 140K. Some dentists who have been practicing for a while earn considerably more. New dentists can earn around 90-100K.

Busy practices gross over 1 million a year, with about 50 or 60% overhead. So the practice owner takes home over 500K, before taxes. BY FOWZIA SOWIDA

If you find the average salary of a doctor online, you are probably looking at the average salary of a doctor who is employed by a hospital or a large medical corporation. These salaries are usually between 100, 000 and 300, 000 dollars. Now, if you take the doctors who are in private practice, those salaries may increase by up to 300, 000 dollars. My father is a Gastroenterologist who's been a member of a small private practice for 15 years. Right now, he is at the peak of his career with a yearly salary of 630, 000 dollars. My father told me that if he was in his fifteenth year working as a employed Gastroenterologist for a hospital, he would probably be making barely 300, 000 dollars a year. This difference in yearly income also applies to Cardiologists, Oncologists, Radiologists, Neurologists, Urologists, Anesthesiologists, OBGYN's and Gynecologists. Now, certain specialists may make 1 million to 3 million dollars a year regardless of being in a private practice or being an employee of a hospital. These specialists include Plastic Surgeons, Neurosurgeons, Vascular Surgeons, Orthopedic Surgeons, and Cardiothoracic Surgeons. This is because the cost of surgical operations are extremely high, and a large percentage of the profit made from a surgical procedure will go to the surgeon regardless of his affiliation with a hospital or a private practice. Certain medical specialists who are in a private practice can make up to a million dollars a year. These specialists include dermatologists, ophthalmologists, and orthodontists.

It depends. A general doctor working for someone else can make up to around 400k/year, while if one owns his/her own practice, then the doctor can make a potential 1 million/year+.
