The qualifications you need to work on the oil rigs will depend on the job that you apply for. Some will need you to be highly qualified but in some cases there will not be the need to be any more qualified to work on a rig than it would for you to do the same sort of jobs on land.
An example of this will be a welder. As long as you had welder’s qualifications you will be able to apply. If it was for basic jobs that would not require qualifications anywhere else they will not be needed for the oil rigs. It is not only job specific qualifications that might be needed but some posts will require you to be registered with an organization and have a license.
As so much of the industry is machinery based there will be the need to be able to use them and plenty of places will train you to the standard needed. It is not just the actual oil extraction that is carried out. There will also be the need for caterers and office staff for example.
While training and educational qualifications are important and necessary there will also be personal qualifications that you will need.
