Its a general letter stating what position youre applying for and that your resume is included. Just a general greeting letter to company youre applying for and a thank yo for having them review your resume. Nothing in great detail and usually are short in length

Yes you can list those as Future Objectives but even list any babysitting jobs, any extra things you have had to do around the house to help out, painting anything or even list that you spent summer vacations in the library on your resume, anything that will show the real you and ambitions, etc

Most employers know full well that new Graduates usually have no work experience so then they look to education and past times for the candidate that stands out from the rest which is what you are trying to do without boring them to death so leave out every detail but lsit as general. That way you may get a interview if they want to know more about you

Cover letters are one page documents that you send with your resume when applying for a job. It is meant to: Introduce yourself to the hiring manager. Argue why you'd be a good fit for the job.

It refers to a letter discussing your skills and qualifications relevant to the job you're applying for. It could also contain your intent why you're applying for the job.
