Different countries have different laws. Normally in a full time job, you need to work 40 hours in a week. So you have to check the law of your country. Secondly you must also check the terms and conditions of your appointment letter about any special term about over time.

You will want to check with the Labor Law Specialist at the Department of Labor in YOUR state. I believe this varies state by state and also job by job. There is usually an 800 number you can call to talk to someone live.
