Being a convicted felon myself, and job searching now for almost 9 months, (with nearly 15 employers hiring me, only to withdraw their employment offer days afterwards), the only agency I have found that actually helps felons it Goodwill. There are some construction companies that don't do background checks, but I am unable to do heavy lifting. The fact is that no one wants to give felons a second chance, which is why so many go back to jail/prison. I am going to my local Goodwill in Nashville the week after thanksgiving to try and get some help from them. My brother is on parole, and they found him a job in their warehouse. Best of luck to all felons, and non-felons who are searching for employment at this time. It's not easy, and it only gets harder before it gets better.

None of them.  Not in  Tennessee. This is a very messed up.  My husband was convicted 13 years ago and been off an 8 year probation for 5 years.  He has 2 degrees and can't get a job.  What is that?  The government allowed him to receive Financial Aide with the convictions, but now he can't pay back the loans because he can't get a job.  Today Taco Bell denied him employment.  What is that? Then they wonder why our men feel disenfranchised and helpless.  Illegal people don't even have these types of problems.  Who do we call?  What leader or lawyer is strong enough?  Will help get this part of discrimination looked at?

The only place that I have found that helps felons is Project return in Nashville. I contacted them on behalf of my fiancee and they told me that he would have to contact them once he is released and they will get him an application to fill out and go from there.

I'm a convicted Felon trying to go to Iraq and drive Tractor Trailer I just found out that I can get my Haz Mat put back on my C.D.L. And I have been struggling for the past seven and a half tears and I need this opportunity to get my life back in order It has been hell and I am willing to go over to the Middle East and do my part in helping the United States in any way I can. I have made some mistakes in my past and payed my dept to society I am ashamed and have embarrassed my family long enough and I feel this is an opportunity to do something good in my life for some one rather than me.
