Firstly, one has to determine what kind of people one wants to hire, and for what position. According to this, interview questions should be formulated. Determine what qualities you want you future employees to have; it will then be easier for you to figure out what questions to ask. The right questions will make the selection process much simpler. You will also need to decide on the type of questions you want to ask, should they be closed or open ended. Ask yourself questions, like, what purpose does the interview have to achieve, how are you going to record the interview etc.

If you think an interview is not enough to judge the applicant then you can broaden the scope of the selection process by introducing elements such as group discussions to test the individual's mental and interactive abilities.
