Nah, it really depends on if you are truly interested in this field. If you are then you should do fine. If you are going to be an RN then you'll have to take college courses before you apply for nursing school and if you already have some titles ie, CNA, LPN, HHA etc this would help. For an LPN you can go to a local technical school. Either way the school is trying on relationships so keep that in mind. Once you finish though you will be a different person. You will be so much more confident and self assured. The available jobs are nearly endless so I hope you give it a go.

It depends on where your dreams point you. Actual R.N.s have  to take rigorous courses throughout their career and have a very demanding, but reqarding line of work. There are lesser (as in lower) nurses that do less and make less. In my opinion, choosing or not choosing a career because it's easy or hard is a very poor decision. If you aren't willing to throw yourself in there and make some sacrifices, you'll end up in the mud.

"lower" nurses? EXCUSE me? As far as I'm concerned ANYONE who takes on this field should never be considered "low". Everyone who takes care of those who are sick and do so because they want to do this should be thought of very highly. In fact, the higher you go, the less you actually do but you ARE responsible for more and you get the chewing from the doctor for anything that goes wrong, so that's where the criticism must evolve from. Before I became a nurse I heard all the scary stories and then I found out most of the"tough" stuff was a great exaggeration.

I was not referring to them as lesser or worse off, but there are levels of nursing that go from lowest, with the lowest credentials and responsibilities to highest and most responsibilities. I'm sorry you misunderstood, I wasn't trying to make personal commentary. I admire nurses of all levels for their commitment.

Yes it's really hard if you are not willing to be a nurse. But those people who are really willing to be a nurse -  they pay the price.
